The Worlds First ever MTB Backyard Ultra was held in Hanmer over the weekend, attracting over 50 entries and hundreds of spectators and support crew over two days.  A Backyard Ultra has entrants completing a lap every hour for as many hours as they can.  Tyrone Low became the Last Man Standing and only finisher, with an incredible 33 Laps.  The Assist Trophy went to a disappointed Ollie Burgess who still had plenty in the tank when he was foiled by a mechanical failure.
